Since 2015, Aspire Dental Centre has been a proud sponsor of the Mark Scheifele Hockey Camp and Golf Classic in support of KidSport.
Aspire Dental Centre believes that it is important to get kids active, whether it be on the ice, on a football field or anywhere else that allows them to develop healthy lifestyles, regardless of the financial, physical or language barriers that may exist. Staying active encourages children to develop and maintain healthy habits throughout their lives. The challenges that come with playing sports also teach children valuable life lessons and skills including leadership, practice, work ethic, dedication and self confidence!
At the Mark Scheifele Hockey Camp Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele and friends, along with expert coaches from the Winnipeg Jets’ Development Team run a two-day camp for boys and girls aged 5 – 12 that feature both skater and goalie specific training sessions both on and off the ice.
The golf classic in support of KidSport Winnipeg is always a great event and has been sold out since inception. The classic raises a considerable amount of money and all proceeds go towards paying the registration fees for kids from financially disadvantaged families so they can participate in sports.
KidSport, www.kidsportcanada.ca is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. Their mission is that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports.
Aspire Dental Centre believes that good oral health is important and we recognize that there is a correlation between oral health and overall health. Research has shown an association between oral disease and other health problems such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke, among others. The best way to ensure overall health is to be active, and by supporting organizations like KidSport, we can improve the quality of life for kids by contributing to their physical, mental and social well-being.
